maemo and android

Hy!

Can I run Android apps on my N900?
Both of them are based on Linux, so i believe there is some why to run Android apps on N900.

Does anybody know how to run them on N900?

Android, even if it's a Linux based platform is very different from a plain GNU/Linux system(like the one used on the N900). Currently there is no way to run android apps under maemo.

To be more specific the middleware is entirely non-standard so it is difficult to port an android compatibility layer on normal distros.

Until the Dalvik VM is ported to n900 you can not run Android Apps on N900.

I remember seeing someone booting an older version of Android on the n900 on youtube. The video just showed the booting process and not the actual home screen. Dunno, could've been a hoax.

You sure that wasn't the N810?? We had android running on the N8x0 series for a while before even the G1 was out IIRC.
