Finishing steps for app development
Hello fellow developers
I am total linux programmer newbie and I have just finished coding app for my bachelor thesis at university. I am sure that there is somebody able to help me with last touches to the app as I am in completely new water here and so by this post I kindly ask you for that. To explain: I have source code for an app which works in Scratchbox, as far as I know now I need to create makefile, .desktop file and somehow deb package and some other things I am not aware of. To emphesize I am not asking anybody to write that things for me, I can just use some help from somebody who actually has developed something for Linux and can tell me what to do and point me the right direction. If you have a bit of a spare time and want to help poor me from finishing misery (as finish is always worst :) I would be very gracefull for your time and effort Thanks in advance and happy new year everyone Johnnnie |
Re: Finishing steps for app development
I'm not too familiar with the process myself as I'm still learning, but I've picked out a few links from the wiki that I believe should put you on the right path:
http://wiki.maemo.org/Documentation/...eveloper_Guide Specifically the GNU Build System section in reference to makefiles. http://wiki.maemo.org/Desktop_file_format Details the contents and placement of .desktop files. http://wiki.maemo.org/Documentation/...d_Distributing and http://wiki.maemo.org/User:Jebba/Package_Building_HOWTO Helped me out a great deal regarding packaging. |
