One of the main things I dont understand about the N900 and Maemo, why use the old Ovi Maps? :( It seems like a big step backwards.. Are they working on an update or is it going to be integrated into the next maemo?

Maybe, maybe not. You do realise though that this is a different operating system with a different hardware architecture, right? Not as simple as recompiling it, changing all text that refers to "Symbian" with "Maemo" and it is done. Took some years for the S60 version to get where it is today so I expect it to take a little while.
