Lost some files in MyDocs
Hello, I was deleting some files leaved by MacOSX on the MyDocs folder, so I typed rm -rf ._*, then I've tried to edit the line to replace the _ with a T (to deletes .Trashes) and I've accidently lost all the hidden files and folder. Can someone please send me back at least .VolumeIcon.icns and .n900.ico ? (I dont't know if other files were important or not)
Thank you very much |
Re: Lost some files in MyDocs
I think you should reflash, it serves you right for using such reckless commands, and you won't know for sure if you have put back in the essential stuff.

Re: Lost some files in MyDocs
As far as i know, the reflash won't touch the /home/user/MyDocs partition (btw the last time I've reflashed, all my files in this folder where still present)

Re: Lost some files in MyDocs
yes I could reflash, but I think it's brutal just for less than 10 files deleted in a home user folder.
Is it just possible for anyone to send me at least the two icon files ? thank you |
Re: Lost some files in MyDocs
You can use the flasher to unpack that bin file and then losetup it and mount it. And then extract whatever you want from it.

ok, I've extracted the bin files, and here is what I get :

the only file I see in the list that represents the filesystem is rootfs.jffs2, but I think it's for the root partition, not the user space partition... |
Re: Lost some files in MyDocs
I can send them, tell me your email address

Re: Lost some files in MyDocs
You extracted the wrong one, the one you want is the eMMC one. :)
