IM skype/gtalk. Change frequency of ping to save battery?
 

As I'm doing a battery comparison between E71 and N900, I noticed Fring has a longer delay in picking up IM's than N900

Fring: ~4 secs to pickup an IM
N900: ~2 secs to pickup an IM

Is there any way to extend the ping uses on N900 to test affects on battery?

The E71 can last 40 hrs continuously connected to Fring (skype+gtalk login) on GSM (no WIFI).. I really don't think N900 can come close currently
