No audio on videos with mplayer
 
Am i missing something here ppl cuz my mplayer doesnt give any audio output for all the video formats ive tried.ive installed mplayer from the xtras testing repository wit the kmplayer interface..the videos show up like peach but theres no audio to support it..appreciate if ya'll help and a very happy new year's to everyone..happy 2010

Well the reboot didn't work,i was wonderin if theres a codec pack avaiable somwhere tht im unaware of

Are you in silent mode? If so it won't work unless you add a little something to a file:
/etc/pulse/xpolicy.conf
[stream]
exe = "mplayer"
group = player


There's also a bug someplace.

Ah... extras-testing...

Tried taking it out of Silent mode?

There's also a bug someplace.
MPlayer in -devel does that. I gave samppa a patch for MPlayer. Rather befitting, I think, since it was me who figured out that trick.
