ftdapp availability
Hello all,
I have been using Symbian for many years and I have some Linux knowledge. I recently moved to Nokia N900 and Maemo 5 which I find very exciting and interesting :D In my previous devices I was using ftd application (= field test or network monitor) to see the network details. I gather these data in specific areas and combining them with the GPS data I make reports in my university. I can't find this application in N900 and Maemo and I do not know where to ask for it. I saw though that it exists and I am sure Nokia has it. You can see the application icon and name here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HblSL0hG6Wg Second raw, last column :) Thanks in advance for any help. |

Bamp!
This thread shouldn't go away just like that...! It's impossible that no one has info about that ;) |
Re: ftdapp availability
No reply, for over a month. So no one knows about it... Or no one wants to talk about it....
It seems to be the ultimate hidden secret... |
Re: ftdapp availability
hehe probably no-one knows the answer :) - who wrote the application, is it open source? got any links? :)
Might be worth emailing the author to see if they have any maemo plans? Secondly, as i don't know anything about it, describe some more of it's functions. A developer may be interested to help you out :) |

ftdapp The developer is Nokia, and this application shows the network details such as cell code, channels, frequency, rssi, etc. Below there's a screenshot from Symbian phones where this app is running. Proof that Nokia created this app for N900 too, is the video above ;) |
Re: ftdapp availability
Ooo interesting app, but looks doable - just started learning python and seems like an interesting id to learn how to do, as all it does is effectivly print out system/cell info....
Managed to get my hello world working, will see if i can figure this out of the next few weeks - until then, someone with a better knowledge will hopefully pop in and say hi :) |
Re: ftdapp availability
OP: You're not going to get it. I, along with many others, have the FTD for Diablo but only because Nokia accidently leaked it (well, they assumed that we mere mortals would not be able to get to it)..

Re: ftdapp availability
Do we have any news about ftdapp?
What if someone has the app installed in a N900? How can we extract it? |
