N810 doesn't see internal flash

Hello All,

I've got recently N810 which doesn't see internal 2Gb flash. Below is /proc/partitions:

Nokia-N810-43-7:~# cat /proc/partitions
major minor #blocks name

31 0 128 mtdblock0
31 1 384 mtdblock1
31 2 2048 mtdblock2
31 3 4096 mtdblock3
31 4 255488 mtdblock4
Nokia-N810-43-7:~#

External miniSD card works fine. Could you advise please, is this a known issue or internal flash is dead?

Some info about hardware and software:

Nokia-N810-43-7:~# cat /proc/component_version
product RX-44
hw-build 0805
nolo 1.1.16

Nokia-N810-43-7:~# uname -a
Linux Nokia-N810-43-7 2.6.21-omap1 #2 Tue Oct 14 11:25:25 EEST 2008 armv6l unknown
(latest Diablo)

Thanks in advance.

'dmesg' might be a good bet too.

Thanks, forgot to mention it earlier, I see only timeouts in mmc-related messages:

Nokia-N810-43-7:~# dmesg | grep mmc

Looks like it tries to restart mmc chip powering it off and then on.

May not relate to your issue but if you've enabled swap the internal drive won't be visible on a PC when connected via USB although it still should be when viewed with the N810 File Manager.

I think it's not related to swap, because kernel needs a disk to place swap. There is no disk and no swap file/partition.

As quick hack I created swap partition on external flash card, but I still very curious where internal flash is.

We had problems with the internal flash even with newly delivered N810s in the past.
The solution usually was to re-format it again.

Thank you for help, but this is not that type of errror: I don't see /dev/mmc* at all, so there is no way to create partition/format it.

Install the Configuration Editor. Select System-> osso-> af. "internal-mmc-device-present" should be checked and "internal-mmc-used-over-usb" should be unchecked.

You mean gconf-editor, right? Tried that tool, with the same result.
I gave up, let my N810 live with external flash only.
