Formatting mmc1 without USB cable
Hey all,
I figured this might be of some help to someone else as well in the future. I have encountered a strange issue with my microSD card that I put in from my previous N810, namely that it became read-only. I looked around in the forums but couldn't find anything useful. I tried checking the fat filesystem, mounting/remounting, restarting but no help, mmc1 remained read only. I just did a reformat on it and it seemed to be working. 1. Install openssh-server or gainroot and become root 2. Code:
umount /media/mmc1 Code:
mkfs.vfat /dev/mmcblk1p1 Code:
mount /dev/mmcblk1p1 /media/mmc1 |
Re: Formatting mmc1 without USB cable
You can also open File Manager on the N900, tap (and hold) on the card, then select "Format" from the pop-up menu.

Re: Formatting mmc1 without USB cable
Lol. Well that's what I was originally looking for =)
It doesn't allow to choose different file systems though (ext2/3) so the original post might still be useful.. |
Re: Formatting mmc1 without USB cable
