I noticed mine has a slight rattle and figured it might be the accelerometer. I think it's on purpose. I think in bounce when you shake, that's what registers the shake.

Mine did - because of a unlocked SIM card and/or microSDHC holder :-)

accelerometer is a solid-state device. It will only rattle if it has become unsoldered ;)

Heh, that's what mine sounds like. The SIM holder is a piece of crap and seems prone to failure. I am waiting for 32 GB MicroSD so have an empty hloder there.

np :) Also, my N900 has a slight rattle as well. I took off the back cover and I tracked down the source of the rattle to the empty micro-SD holder. As soon as I get a card in there all the loose parts will be secured ;)

Mine rattles all thw way down the right side, i've not managed to figure out what it is :/
EDIT: turns out it was the SIM holder, lol

yeah i just had back cover off holding the micro sd holder and then rattling went mostly but there was very slight rattle then inside. I am wondering if anyone has any idea where i can get an OCZ 16gb Class 6 MicroSHDC card from in the UK. Cheers guys and gals.

The IR-port (?) on my device makes a ratteling noice when i shake the phone (the black part next to the camera button looks to be "loose"). Don't remember if it was like this to begin with, just noticed it today. Anyone else have this?
