Setting environment variables permanently
 
What's the easiest way of exporting SVN_EDITOR=nano permanently? I tried the method listed in here, but didn't quite work. This forum entry is a similar problem with mine, but didn't mention how to do so permanently.
It would be great to hear from you about suggestions. Thanks.

The first link shows setting it in ~/.bash_profile - try editing ~/.profile instead.
