Scrolling pages using motion sensors

Hi!

I began to wonder why there is no scrolling by using motion sensors. I played openarena and it used those sensors cleverly for moving. Same is true for bounce.

This would be comfortable to use since you don't have to touch anything continuosly. Just little tilting would do it.

Of course there should be a way to trigger that functionality so that it would not be always on.

Any thoughts on this?

Isn't there anybody who thinks that this would be killer feature? I'm just wondering. :)

I thought this mainly for web browsing but why not globally in all menus.

It could be interesting but would take some careful testing work to be suitable for any program: most people don't hold their reading material completely flat; so it would have to have a very easy and functional way to recalibrate.and also be quite smart about handling shakes and sneezes and whatnot.

I think this, like 3D graphics, is one of those things that will build up to critical mass over time. It's never going to be a good way to navigate menus though lol.

Yes. I think instead default flat level, current tilting angle in use should be considered and calibrated zero. So it would be every time a bit different angle after startin motion scrolling.

Instead of launch button to start motion scrolling, proximity sensor could be used. Consequently, handling of operation would work also when hardware keyboard is closed.
