Maemo App Store

Don't you think,
it's a right time to start Maemo App Store ?

Nokia Ovi App Store stays for Ovi.

As iPod Touch user I really love an idea of getting access
to a number of fully pretested, fully working applications, showing new features.

So Maemo App Store looks to be an excellent solution
to make progress with Nokia Maemo product line.

Re: Maemo App Store

Why not just use the repositorys in the applicaton manager?

Re: Maemo App Store

known to me repositories are for free maemo apps
I mean Maemo App Store
featuring both free and non free Maemo apps.

Another issue is maemo application manager / management.

Application catalogue is made of a number of repositories.

I am not aware if there exist one complete and updated list of maemo repositories

http://www.google.com/#hl=en&source=...d6ef47431c6a4a

Gronmayer alone comes with 60 Repos for OS 2008
http://www.gronmayer.com/it/

It would be nice to have Maemo application manager
to read complete and updated list of Repos at one step,
as entering a new Repo is time consuming, text entering operation.

For 60 Repos it may take some time.

So why not to have full and updated list (downloadable file) of all Maemo Repos, maintained by Gronmayer or someone else
and to have Application manager to read that list to generate complete Repo Catalogue in Maemo App Manager ?

Re: Maemo App Store

you only need maemo extras. it's preinstalled, only need one click to activate it. it offers a feature rich, touchscreen enabled list of apps and games with intuitive control through keyboard and motion.
LOL that sounds sooooo stupid.
and btw. as you said, gronmayer is sooo 2008

Re: Maemo App Store

There's not really any good reason to need general access to repos outside of Maemo and Nokia is there?

A separate app store was discussed a month or so ago due to obstacles in hosting apps at Ovi, but i don't think it went anywhere. It would represent a significant amount of effort that could better be used elsewhere.

Is something wrong about 60 Repos for OS 2008: from Gronmayer ?

http://www.gronmayer.com/it/index.ph...&system=maemo4

And exactly the solution.

Select and install all repositories
"
Select all repositories: [v]
"
Install selected (all)

Have you ever tried this option to install all Repos for Maemo 4 from Gronmayer ?

http://www.gronmayer.com/it/index.ph...&system=maemo4

It would be nice to have maemo2, maemo3 Repos to show alike
feature.

I wouldent mind paying for good! useful! supported! software and games. Free is great. Get paid for work is great! I support both.

Yes, library conflicts and broken applications.

No, but I have tried to help restore working order to the tablets of a few of those who did enable every OS2008 repository from Gronmayer. Often, a reflash is the only real fix though.
