Email Attachments: Auto Resize Option

Hello there,
All I use so far is gmail over imap4. Its all pretty straight forward.

I just wondered if the other email options (or available apps) allow for an auto resize option on images?

For example, when I use the share option to a service, the images being shared have a resize option to save on bandwidth (Small, Medium, Large, Original).

Am I missing it or is this not avail for 'sharing' images via email?

cheers.

Do you mean when sending attachments or receiving them?

Hi Pelago.

Well, I'm referring to just images (possibly videos) really.

If I take a photo, and 'share via service' like Flickr, the n900 has an options to select the image size that will be shared.

It then performs an automatic resize/compression before the file is sent to service.

My question is: Is there/should there be an option to do so when you share via other options like 'Share via Email' to automatically reduce the size of the sent photo or video??

I'd noticed this too.
You can always resize the image and then send, but it's not as neatly done.

I think there should be a consistent set of options across the 'share via' service plugins.

Yes ! exactly....All 'share via service' protocols could have this option, it would seem it's already there, just needs 'tweaking' to include the other two (Email and Bluetooth). With no MMS, I tend to send a lot of pictures via email now too, it would be great to just get them resized on the fly to not have to send a 3mb file each time.

Is this worth a brainstorm????
