ColEm 2.6.0 Released

Hello, All!

I have released ColEm 2.6.0 for OS2008 and Maemo5 devices. ColEm will emulate the classic ColecoVision console. This version includes the following changes:
  • State save file format (.STA) changed!
  • Now clearing all RAM to zeros (Heist works).
  • Now padding smaller ROMs with 0xFFs in LoadROM().
  • Fixed Reset9918() to reset VDP completely (Boulder Dash and Frogger).
  • Implemented SCREEN2 table address masking, thanks to Daniel Bienvenu.
  • Fixed on-screen numeric dialpad in ColEm-Maemo.
  • Added fast-forwarding with Ctrl+Space to ColEm-Maemo5.
The OS2008 version should be available from Extras automatically. The Maemo5 version is available from Extras-Testing. If you really want it in Extras, please, test and vote here:

Re: ColEm 2.6.0 Released

Colecovision was a more advanced alternative to the classic Atari 2600. When it came out i remember TV advertisements with a snooty george plimpton explaining to families how it was the superior home entertainment system. I think it even allowed for a keyboard.

I had the luck to borrow a unit from a friend. It had a great rendition of Wizard of Wor; A two-player maze shooter

And this space-defense game that mixed some tactics in with the action - somewhat new at the time - was quite fun. Can't remember the name at the moment.

Thanks fms for *writing* this.
