KDE-PIM will run on Maemo

Saturday the real kickoff happened with the announcement that KDAB and Intevation have secured sizeable funding, allowing them to to stabilize Akonadi and bring it into the mobile space. Which you can read as: the kdepim technologies will run on the Nokia N900, but also on a Windows Mobile device. It probably will be new pim applications, as those screens require a different gui. The past few years we have separated most of the technologies into separate frameworks, so this should be possible. That will also mean the frameworks should be present on no less than 5 different platforms: Linux, Windows, MacOS and the two new ones: Windows Mobile and Maemo. This is really exciting news.
Akonadi is complete infrastructure to store, search, sync and retrieve information. This is targeted mostly at groupware solutions but practically you can interact with data from any app with Akonadi.

Should does not mean *will* ;)

AFAIU this "should" remark was more about separate GUI for Maemo. It is possible but require coders. Theoretically it is possible to do it fast - there is proof of concept mail client in proverbial "10 lines of code" (OK, bit more ;) ) but polished, finished product will require much more work.

I wonder who gave money KDAB and Intevation. If it was Nokia author would mention only Maemo or Maemo and Symbian but explicitly Maemo and Windows Mobile? Interesting.

Has someone managed to install the new kdepim applications? The readme can be found here:
http://files.kolab.org/local/maemo/README.html
But the package repositories seems to be broken: "kparted" can't be installed. Is this a general problem?

I have the same problem. Also by installing via cl. Size does not match...

Same issue. All the libsoprano files have a "Size mismatch" problem.
