Rockbox 4ever?
 
The builtin media player sucks really bad:

-no autoresume
-no fading between tracks
-no pitching
-not showing next track

I am currently using my old iPod instead of this High-Tech-Phone, is there any chance for implementing this requested features in any available media player?

I feel your pain, carrying my mp3-player with me aswell until theres anything remotely usable on the N900. Will be testing MediaBox again today if it want's to work, you might want to try it.

If you click on the picture of the album / the album cover, the play list shows - then you can see the next track.

As for the others, people have filed some bugs.
If you vote for them, chances are they'll (at some point) be resolved.
