Cube 2: Sauerbraten - Is It Possible on N900?
I have read that This game is First person Shooter, and it's open source that can run on Windows, Linux, FreeBSD, and Mac OS X using OpenGL and SDL.
Is there any possibility to run it on N900? Anyone have skills to do it? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cube_2:_Sauerbraten Or The Urban Terror game? Also Open Source, and Running on Linux, and useing QIII Arena engine. Urban Terror works on the N900 but very laggy from what people have said :(

I have been playing/creating with the Cube2 engine that Sauerbraten was originally created on and came across this little gem for the iPhone (created by one of the Sauerbraten mod'ders) Cube for iPhone http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2g4Em...layer_embedded The App creators Blog http://fernlightning.com/doku.php?id=iphone:cube:start The original and free download of the games engine is the Platinum Arts Sandbox game maker check out the vids http://sandboxgamemaker.com/what-is-sandbox.html So this is my train of thought ATM? With the iphone cube game being a stand-alone game with the edit mode and server selection and extra texture files removed, this leave the iPhone verion at around 50mb. (Pretty light huh?) Games and maps are freely swapped around the Cube forums in text .art/.confg files and are placed into the one file in order to run. If there was away to get the engine to run on the N900, then the map and gameplay files just need to be added to run, minus the rest of the editor. As i said earlier, i have been playing and creating (my own map & game) with the Cube engine and If anyone can post details of how this can be run on N900 even if it is slow in performance, I would like to know. From that point on I would like start to taylor my map into the engine as a standalone for the N900. Would anyone be so kind enough to help? |

Just been looking through Synaptic Package manager and came across sauerbraten :) Downloading it as we speak, but the data file is huge and my connection is flakey right now. Bummer They appear to have some Armel documentation too |

I JUST HAVE IT FROM SOME WHERE QUAKE3+URBAN TERROR TUTORIAL tutorial all steps 1-first quake 3 install install ioquake and rootsh 1.8 download this file http://www.megaupload.com/?d=NUWMLBDN have baseq3 folder put in n900 root , 2-open xterminal sudo gainroot mv /home/user/MyDocs/baseq3/* /home/user/ .q3a/baseq3/ wait two minutes (only move files into q3a folder, home/user/.q3a) 4- now start quake 3 comprobadlo , quake 3 say password , press enter button and enter button and ok 5- play quake 3 and exit game now URBAN TERROR only download here http://www.filefront.com/9413938/Urb...or_41_FULL.zip extract folder in a desktop pc . the good folder are q3ut4 . q3ut4 have two important files zpak000_assets.pk3 y zpak000.pk3 put in home/user/.q3a/baseq3/ folder q3ut4 with other files put in home/user/.q3a/ 6- very important into this folders exist q3config.cfg search seta com_hunkmegs "64" and change and put seta com_hunkmegs "256" home/user/.q3a/ home/user/.q3a/baseq3/ notes: Some useful keys: Fn (Blue Arrow) + Ctrl/Sym = Open/Close console. and for game write in console /quit Fn + , (Next to backspace) = Esc (aka Menu) Space = Jump Ctrl/Sym = Fire T = Talk (press enter to come out of this) Fn + 1 = Weapon 1 (2,3,4,5, etc will change to weapon 2,3,4,5,etc) A = Side step left D = Side spep right Up (On direction keys on the right) = move forward (same as tilting phone forward) Down (on direction keys on the right) = move backwards (same as tilting phone backwards) You can customise the above commands to how you want in the options i.e. change side step to the direction keys! You can use mouse+keyboard with power flasher 46 +h-e-n usb host and for mouse two options http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php?t=66141 or bt+-hid scripts and play with mouse and keyboard i think. i tried server mode with hotsmode dedicated NO , any stages more fast than other stages You can play with n900 950mhz minimun or higher you can try other games edit new info: for put bots into game open console /bot_enable 1 /reload /addbot <type> <level> <team> <ping> <nick> in type you can use bots name boa cheetah chicken cobra c ockroach cougar goose mantis penguin puma python raven scarab scorpion tiger widow in level 1 - 5 for example /addbot leon 4 red 76 =lvl4=leon for kill bots /kick <nick> o /kick allbots UT needs over cloak to 950 mhz |
