Umm.. What are you actually trying to achieve? The command you are giving does not contain the installable file. It seems that you're just giving the path not the .deb file.

Re: error when i try dpkg -i /home/user/MyDocs/.documents/
i also have a problem with this
i want to install a .deb-file when i enter dpkg -i /media/sdhc1/file.deb it tells me that operation requires superuser privilege, as expected so i did sudo gainroot, which tells me "Enable RD mode if you want to break your device" this doesnt help as the dpkg-command still doesnt work when i do sudo -s, it also doesnt help. how do i get superuser privileges? all i read about in this forum is "do 'sudo gainroot' "; but that doesnt work. |
Re: error when i try dpkg -i /home/user/MyDocs/.documents/
you should install rootsh package.
after this "sudo gainroot" and all commands after this will have superuser privilege. it is mean just type: "dpkg -i PackageName.deb" |
