on the maemo select page it says it's preinstalled but i don't see it anywhere

Settings, then VOIP and IM accounts, Click new, select skype :)

it is integrated into your contacts, and your status is set in the erm, status bar :) w000p

Go to Settings->My accounts and you'll be able to add your Skype account. Once you added your account, your contacts will be integrated in the phone/contacts applications.

if you start the phone app, and tap for settings, you can choose accounts. There you can choose skype, google talk, jabber, SIP and more =)

and in the phone application you will be able to choose between skype and cellular calls
