Tv out

I cant search for this...

so I connected the n900 to my tv, and the picture came out in black and white. Not sure why. And it isnt all that clear, grainy at best.
Anyone know how to fix this problem, or is this just an issue with my tv??

I'm no expert, but I tried the TV out and got the same error until i noticed not all of my cables were pushed in quite far enough.

Once I did this, it was fine and got a rather good picture on a film run direct from my phone!! :D

Is your monitor NTSC or PAL compatible? What is the 900's TV Out configured for?

I have no idea. I tried both NTSC and PaL, and it was still in black and white and not grainy!!

From wathcing videos on the internet of people plugging the phone to a tv, I highly doubt its the size of the tv making it come out grainy. Theirs is crystal clear!!

You've inserted the cable into the component luma input. You need to find the composite input.

Forgive me for not knowing what composite input is. Please explain.

Component has red/green/blue + audio where composite has video + L + R, roughtly, 4 holes vs 3 holes, in a simple term; if still confused, post a picture of the tv input jacks, we will help you out.

Re: Tv out

Component video is taken in using 3 phonos (red, green and blue).

Composite video is taken using 1 phono (yellow).

Yellow plug on the 900's cable goes into the "Yellow port" on the display (composite connection)

If you are plugging the "Yellow plug" from the 900's cable into a "red/blue/green" port (component) on the display, then you have it connected to the wrong connection.

The 900 has a "Composite" connection, and not a "Component".
