Have you tried Red Pill mode? I installed Python easily after adding a repository for Maemo 3 from Gonmayer,then usinfg Red Pill mode.

ok, enabled RPM
http://wiki.maemo.org/Red_Pill_mode

browse installable applications
shows first 2-3 char. of app name
opened one, looking for python2.5-runtime
and app manager crashed

Internal error. Application'Application manager' closed
OK

I am back and selected Python

How to stop app manager updating/ refreshing each time I select another app for installation ?

removed map coming with OS, as low on memory

installing python2.5 from repositories in RPM
Not enough memory in target location.

white screen
system restarted
crashed again
problem with GUI, upper line icons moved to the right and seen twice ;(


It looks like I need to reflash it again

Already started Reflash wizard by Nokia
and device has not been discovered
and I rebooted it 2-3 times
and GUI is back on , with single icons, full resolution.
