ip address scanning
Hi all, is there an app that can list all ip addresses on a network, plus have the ability to show the offline ones, ie something live my fav in windows, lookatLan

You might be able to use Nmap for that, though it is commandline only and could be slightly confusing for beginners...
http://maemo.org/downloads/product/Maemo5/nmap/ To ping all addresses you can do something like nmap -sP 192.168.1.0/24 (where 192.168.1.xx is your network) (if i recall that syntax correctly) I hope that this helped you at least a bit |

Thanks for the response, I have tried nmap, and it will serve my purposes, can I add a command which will list the ips only, eg 192.168.10.2 192.168.10.9 192.168.10.55 192.168.10 254 This will enable me to scan a network and see instantly whats up? Thanks tom |
