MMSH URL is invalid

Using the media player to store a radio bookmark, the address is mmsh://mediasrv-the.musicradio.com/LBC1152?MSWMExt=.asf but I cannot save the URL - it comes back as invalid as soon as I press save.

I have tried changing mmsh to http to see what happens, and the bookmark then saves with no problem (but because it has the wrong address as a result, the media does not play).

This worked fine when I saved mmsh:// bookmarks before PR1.1, and the saved ones play with no problem - could the update be anything to do with this, or can anyone advise how to bookmark an mmsh stream please?

mhm... isn't =. an improper expression for urls?!

try mmsh://mediasrv-the.musicradio.com/LBC1152?MSWM.asf

Re: MMSH URL is invalid

If I type in

mmsh://mediasrv-the.musicradio.com/LBC1152?MSWMExt=.asf

on Linux, it plays correctly with no problem.

If I try to save the same link on the N900 media player it states invalid URL.

=. is a proper expression, the same expression works on Sydney's The Mix, Capital in London and so on.

It is definitely mmsh:// not mms://

Yeah. You have a typo there. The protocol is MMS, not MMSH. Your link works fine on my PR 1.1.

EDIT: mmsh seems not to be a typo, its just mms over http. If you use mms:// it will work ok. Not sure why you should even use mms over http. More overhead.

Re: MMSH URL is invalid

As it goes, I have tried mms:// and that works on the 900 (but it hangs my Totem Linux player for some reason).

Why could I save URL's as mmsh before and not now?

Edit - will there be less data transfer with mms than mmsh in that case? Is that what I have been doing wrong?

Edit 2 - for some reason my Totem player has now decided it likes mms, my head hurts ;)

You're welcome.

And keep in mind, that just because it's linux, it doesn't mean it's the same across the board.
