Fixing YouTube on the N800 and Nokia 770

Again, I direct us all to Orb.
Here's the article.

160k/s is perfectly fine for YouTube quality videos, and chances are you can get that wherever you find your bandwidth.

It's nice, but for those of us who don't have unlimited download capabilities, it could be the Highway To Hell.

And it doesn't exactly solve the inability to use other flash goodies either. Probably a good video solution, but I'd rather use my laptop for best quality viewing and higher resolution. I just don't get why Adobe or Nokia insists on limiting the "Internet" capbilities by not loading these tablets up with the latest version of the flash player and no Java support at all. It's like calling a Honda Civic a car when it drives like school bus, and you still want to claim that it's still going to get pretty good gas mileage.

I got an annoying "codec error" message (audio OK but no video) until I realized that ffdshow was missing on my PC.

I found a comprehensive howto on Orb forums: Nokia 770 (880) successful streaming.

Thanks for that link ikarizdat. I've been talking to the Orb developers a bit, asking for some kind of plugin like their OrbThis except on the Internet Tablet. I don't know if the Opera version on the Internet Tablet supports plugins? If so, what's the best resource I can give the Orb developers on this?

Thanks!

p.s. You can OrbThis stuff on your PC for later watching on your tablet.
