Any way to send out a photo through Infrared port?
I've read some thread that Nokia N900's Infrared port is a transmitter only, cannot receive signal. Hence we cannot use this as file transfer port.
How about just send out? Is this possible to just send out a file through the IR port but not receiving one? SInce I got a photo printing device which receive IR signals only, it will be very nice if I can send out the photos through IR port to this printer~ Hope someone can help~;) |
Re: Any way to send out a photo through Infrared port?
if it's a photo printing device i suppose it's customary for sender and receiver to negotiate protocols and speed and basically do a handshake thing before the actual sending process. the sending process might also be accompanied by confirmation messages the other way around. i'm not sure, but my best guess is that it's not possible.

You mean the 2 devices need to "communicate" before n900 can start transmitting the file, right?
Ic. thought this is so disappointing. My printing device is Fujifilm Pivi mp-70, just a handy instant photo printer. Since infrared port starts replaced by bluetooth or even wifi, this cute device becomes useless to me.... |
