Jabber unstable connection disconnect/connect
 

I would like to use factory Jabber support to log into all my chat accounts with transport agents.
I found a server with all requirements and successfully configured but ..

I notice only the Jabber account disconnect and reconnect several times in an hour.
I tried with other accounts logged together and with Jabber alone.
I tried with different Jabber server but problem still there.
After disconnection it re-connect in a matter of seconds.

Where I can find the log to check what's happening?
It's happening someone else?

I think it is draining my battery faster than with a stable connection.

The Jabber.org server is undergoing a transition from one software to another.

Instead of switching server softwares they are attempting to fix the new software they chose.

maxppc, do you actually mean jabber-server as in jabber.org - or just any XMPP-server out there?

assuming you're talking about XMPP in general:
while I do not notice this myself (=on my own N900), I see people who use the N900 dis- and re-appear as you describe it when I'm on my desktop computer. I get the signal that a person signed off, immediately followed by "signed on" again.

I always thought this is because these people are on the move and maybe 3G connection drops every now and then, but maybe it's something else...

it happens with two different servers:
jabber.org
ilportalinux.it

while first give me network error and does not always reconnect after it, the latter just reconnect continuously.

I tried it under good mobile network cover and other chat protocols are stable.
under wifi this issue does not occur

This week jabber.org server was having serious problems and the service was intermittent ALL this week.
Today the team fixed the various problems they have and since a few hours from now the service was working without problems.
Hope it stays this way. :)

I hear this happen on one[all?] of my IM Accounts. When I have the N900 on general profile I hear it disconnect and reconnect few times an hour (I'm usally not near the phone when it happens).

I have MSN,Ovi,Facebook,SIP enabled
