Scratchbox and SDK installation problem
Hello everybody, I've had my N900 for 2 weeks now, and it is the best fone i've ever used so far... I am familiar with some programming languages, but i didn't use Linux before, so i guess i am a noob when it comes to linux. (though i modified some stuff in the N900 by replacing the original files using Winscp) so im missing some stuff when i follow the guide... i got the root access ( i think it is gained when you enter "sudo gainroot") but when i enter "./maemo-scratchbox-install_5.0beta2.sh –u USER -F" i get permission denied... also some files do not exist on my system such as "/boot/grub/menu.lst" and the sysctl file which are modified to force the scratchbox installation .. i've been trying to install scratchbox for a week and i don't even think that im close to installing it! :o Actaully i think i get stuck in the first step and that is installing xserver-xephyr ( "apt-get install xserver-xephyr" ) sorry if i have many questions, but im really looking forward to developing the N900 : ) |
Re: Scratchbox and SDK installation problem
You don't install the scratchbox on the N900 itself. The scratchbox is meant to be installed on your workstation/laptop.

Re: Scratchbox and SDK installation problem
Good place to start:
http://maemo.org/development/ http://wiki.maemo.org/Documentation/...K_Installation Since I'm a windows User, I installed VMware and then used it to install Ubuntu, which i used to install the SDK. I can't remember the exact steps since I set it up at 4am one morning :p, but those links should help heaps. Good luck :D |
Re: Scratchbox and SDK installation problem
Or just download the VMWare image with Scratchbox pre-installed from Nokia...

Re: Scratchbox and SDK installation problem
Hi everyone
I downloaded scratchbox and everything is going great, but when i enter the echo "deb http://repository.maemo.org/ fremantle/<token_number> nokia-binaries" >> /etc/apt/sources.list (in the _X86) i get an error, it gives me an IP and it says Not Found (as if the page was removed or something) but the ARMEL phase worked great can someone please help me? |
