WIFI + Skype + Bluetooth headset
I have an N900 2.2009.51-1.002.
My test consists of using my bluetooth headset on a Skype call initiated through a Dialcentral (google voice) callback. The call starts well enough, voice quality is excellent and the conversation proceeds without any problems until suddenly the call seemingly goes dead, then disconnects and then even the BT headset connection is dropped. I checked the bugs list and the forums for this issue, but I havent come across anything that matches this problem exactly. I have read one bug that seems to indicate the possibility of such a problem occurring as a result of excessive data being rx/tx over either wlan or BT. However I do not know if this is what my problem is. Has anyone else faced this? Any suggestions or workarounds? Thanks! |
Re: WIFI + Skype + Bluetooth headset
upgrade to pr 1.1 should fix your bluetooth problem.
i have the same problem prev and fixed using new firmware |
Re: WIFI + Skype + Bluetooth headset
He is using the new firmware read the post clearly.. It kind of seems like there is a connection time-out or something.. Maybe it's part of some kind of setting? Loke power-saving setting kind of thing? Check your settings maybe that might help.. If that's not the problem then I can't help you as I am not an expert in linux..

Re: WIFI + Skype + Bluetooth headset
Hey.....there are A LOT of BT issues.....
search under BT Keybord in this forum and you will see that they have a time out problem as well. BT headsets are not easy to get to work, the N900 is really picky about what types that are accepted it seems. I have used a NOKIA BH-503, worked fine for music, but voice& mic quality was "muffled" like I had a pillow in front of me.. do more searching here and you will find info regarding all the BT issues that N900 do have. |
Re: WIFI + Skype + Bluetooth headset
@tirtawn: I am at pr1.1 afaik.
@bandora: Power settings is an interesting idea - I'll try this out tomorrow. Right now I'm in a zombie state. @McChicken: Yes, I gathered that BT has issues from all the threads here as well as the huge BT buglist. However, in my tests of BT with two different headsets - a Plantronics Voyager and a Motorola headset, I found that media player works very well with the A2DP capable Motorola headset. Plantronics is mono and I've known it to have crackling sounds with other phones, but it worked and it worked well ... until I try to make or receive a phone call. Haven't had the muffled sound thing happen to me - otoh, I've not been able to carry out a conversation long enough to find out. |
Re: WIFI + Skype + Bluetooth headset
@bandora: Changing power settings do not make any difference.
Using the bluetooth headsets with a normal cellular call works perfectly well. |

Re: WIFI + Skype + Bluetooth headset
I noticed that Skype calls don't get forwarded to my Bluetooth Headset / carkit BT, is there a possibility to enabled it? The output works fine when I enable BT Audio mode of the carkit.

Re: WIFI + Skype + Bluetooth headset
Hello
I also have this problem... When I drive I use the 3G connection + skype online + BT handsfree. When I do the one call with skype (sometimes even one call I can't to do), it's stops to work... I can't do another call by skype. When I try disconnect from the 3G and reconnect again, the Skype don't want to connect... Only reboot the phone is help.. Any solution ? Maybe someone know the command in terminal for refresh the skype or bt so I can connect again without reboot ? I tried the killall hildon-home and killall hildon-desktop, it's not help... only reboot.. |
