Solved - Problem with missing communication between certain apps and emmc
 

Hi ppl

I really need some expert help on this one cause for the life of me i can't figure it out on my own...

After loading a few simple apps like
Omweather
fmtx faker with booster and widget
Mymenu
Wifi switcher
Petrovich
ukeyboard
Systeminfowidget
3G/2G switcher applet
nameday applet

I cannot backup to the emmc anymore, the option in blue lettering is no longer there, so i can only backup to the memory card.
Now this bug doesn't really bother me. What DOES bother me is that the maps are not working either when this happens ie the maps program doesn't read the maps installed on the emmc and just downloads everything...
Some times after a few reboots it works and communication is restored but that's about once every ten times which isn't exactly stable behaviour....

I have uninstalled all the programs but still nothing.
The App manager log gave me this

Last time around i went a bit nuts with app installations and managed to brick my phone, so i had to completely wipe the emmc cause it wouldn't even flash properly. But i don't want to go through that process all over again.

So if anyone has any idea on how to fix this i would really appreciate it.

That could be filesystem corruption - you could try either unmounting the MyDocs folder & fscking it from your N900, or connecting in Mass Storage mode to a PC and running a disk check from there.

This happened to me too and I have no solution by now. To correct the map applications, I did like specified here: http://talk.maemo.org/showpost.php?p...7&postcount=19
Please let me know if you find a solution :)

BTW the packages we have in common are:
fmtx faker with booster and widget
Petrovich
3G/2G switcher applet

The script is I have it in /opt/mybin/mappe.sh (you can put where you like, of course, then change the following desktop file accordingly).

In /usr/share/applications/hildon/nokia-maps.desktop you can hash out the Exec line (put a # in front of the line) and insert a new Exec line: Exec=/opt/mybin/mappe.sh
You should hash out also the "X-Osso-Service=NokiaMaps" line.
To do all these changes you have to be root.

FMTX Faker is the program at fault. Thanks to lma, look at https://bugs.maemo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=8148 for the fix. It will be added to FMTX Faker when time allows.

Thanks qwerty12 i followed the purge instructions posted there and the problem is indeed solved :)

For those that have the same problem
1) uninstall fmtx faker
2) run xterminal with the sudo gainroot command
3) type in dpkg --purge fmtx-faker
4) reboot

Problem solved !
