not sure how to stop it, but changing the directories it scans helps. it was scanning forever with me, turned out that it was going through the maps from maemo mapper. excluding them made it considerably faster.

Beta 2 will improve this significantly (according to INdT team), but I don't know when it's going to become available. Anyone knows about the next beta release date?
