Memory Upgrade - sd to compact flash
If it's possible to use a sd to compact flash converter as well as a sd to ide converter, then it must be possible to do the reverse.
-If there are any current devices that convert any other meduim to sd, would anyone please post links. I think its possible to use either a comact flash card or a ide like harddrive (with external power) on either the n770 or n800. It has been done with a psp, memory stick to conpact flash converts exist and are used as a harddrive for the psp. Any thoughts would be welcome. |
Re: Memory Upgrade - sd to compact flash
I have not heard about such a converter, but maybe one exists. One problem I can think of is that compact flash cards have (most of) its interface on the card, while SD cards have the interface in the device (the Nokia). So, the computer with the CF interface has got a lot of pins which includes power lines to the CF card interface electronics. To make a CF slot interface for an SD card is probably simple, as you have all those signals and power available from the computer. But to provide the same to a CF card from what's available in the SD slot is more tricky I think.
All of the above is speculation of course, but I suspect the easiest route to get CF cards working in the Nokia is to get USB host mode working, and then use a battery powered CF card reader. |
