Can't play videos in Media Player
 

I'm now unable to play any videos using the Media Player. I've tried videos stored locally and off my sd card. I see the thumbnails but when I click on one all I get is the 5 dots . . . . . cycling indefinitely. Any ideas? Thanks.

I guess it happens after you did PR1.1 upgrade or put some video in N900.

So,

1. re-install Extra Decoders Support (decoders-support package) if you use it.

2. Install KMPlayer

3. killall gst-video-thumbnailerd and do NOT use system media player but use KMPlayer instead until bug 8165 is fixed.

If that helps - please vote for bug 8165 (https://bugs.maemo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=8165) for faster fix.

Thanks. I've installed KMPlayer and can once again watch videos. I've voted for bug 8165 also.
