(Diablo) RTCOMM install issue
(Diablo):
I am interested in trying out the OneRing app so... Never having used RTComm before I found an entry in the App Mgr for RTcomm-beta-installer. Installing that I got an 'installer app' added that when launched took me to the App Mgr and had me add two repos before it did an install of RTComm. I installed the above and 'all' I got was an app called "IM Log viewer" that shows some random, old chats. I also did it in another way where I took the red pill and installed the RTComm 2008 Beta version - same result. The Collabora repo has both Diablo and User in the fields it should have those values in. Edit: I also followed the steps outlined here: http://rtcomm.garage.maemo.org/ but in the end all I ended up with was the IM Log View tool...no RTComm entry anywhere... (I never get to this step: "Once installed, select the menu item "Extras/RTCom update installer" and continue"). How DO I get RTComm installed? |

Does https://bugs.maemo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=4032 help?

just load the defautl chat application by going to applications/communication/chat click on add account and chose and set any account you wanna add. Note: sometimes you may have problem loading your contact list. in this situation disable all you accounts, open pidgin waite for comple list to load, close pidgin and go back to default chat, or contact list. It always works for me. |

Going to the default Chat application I don't see anything new. I add an account (google talk as an example) and no new options or anything appears. I also don't understand where to do this: "Once installed, select the menu item "Extras/RTCom update installer" and continue" Any help greatly appreciated. EDIT/Update: Rebooting I got a new option in the Account Creation for "Google Voice". Selecting that it imported my contacts from Google voice. Fiddling around with it I like this much less than the Dialcentral interface - which I'm returning to now :) |
