Easy Maemo ?! to install maemo apps onto sd w/o sd clone?

Hi everybody
i was thinking about how could it be possible to install maemo apps. onto sd memory and i came up with this idea.
You may ask why would i need another solution instead of cloning os to sd.
But in case you got 2 sd cards and you want to use one for media files and other for apps.
you cant insert another sd card while booted to Sd clone.
But if we would have something like easy debian it would be possible to run apps. which are installed onto sd

i hope you understand what im talking about and i hope i can get your attention.

you can use a partition on sd-card or internal eMMC for Easy Debian / Mer / Ubuntu or even Fedora root-fs. Then you can install & run Netbeans, Kile, inkscape, dia, gimp, abiword, gnumeric & openoffice out of your maemo with the command: debbie <command>

Try installing in Easy Debian from Maemo-Repository. Should be possible to copy files manually, if apt or dpkg refuse...

Is that possible to link a folder from ex. /usr/bin to /media/mmc2? If i have the mmc formated to ext2?

Generally it is possible to install maemo apps onto easy debian, but depending on what rootfs you are using (Mer / Debian (Lenny) / Fedora, ...) there might be missing dependencies. Why do you want to do this?

It is also possible to use another /usr directory (on /dev/mmcblk0p4 for example) after the basic boot process or even to boot into Mer instead of Maemo. ext2 supports symlinks!

http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php?t=42852 or http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php?t=33429 cover some of the mentioned issues.
http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php...490#post411490 describes using a partition for /usr, but folder works with mount --bind instead.
