Special Character Input problem on N900
I waited for an update to Maemo before making this thread, now I come for help since it did not fix the problem.
I live in Portugal and need the special characters. I remember when I got the N900 I was able to press Fn > Sym and a popup menu to get the character I needed. I am no longer able to do this and the OS update did not fix it. Pressing this key combination does nothing now. How can I get this working again? I need to enter characters like ç ô etc. I have done a search for the solution but to no avail. Nearly all results deal with creating a custom keyboard. Help please. |

Raise this in a bug report at http://bugs.maemo.org

Re: Special Character Input problem on N900
ok thanks. I thought maybe it was a bad setting or needed to do something in x-term, or the new versions of maemo needed an extra input method. i really had no idea. thanks i will start the bug report.

Re: Special Character Input problem on N900
I'm on PR1.3 USA variant. The pressing of the SYM/Ctrl - Blue arrow -shift at the same time brought up the pop-up symbol selection.

Re: Special Character Input problem on N900
This part of the keyboard works for me too. I'm using a US spec N900 in Norway, with Norwegian language and PR 1.3. When I press fn+sym the special character virtual keyboard pops up as it should, so this is most likely a bug with your phone.
