Solid Green LED, Won't charge/Power on
Hey guys, been browsing around the site for a bit and can't seam to find anyone else in my situation.
My phone battery completely died a few days ago and hasn't been able to take a charge since. I know this seams to be a common problem, but instead of the flashing orange LED, im getting a solid green one as soon as I plug it in (Wall adapter or USB charge) the LED stays solid for about 20-30 minutes and then goes out. if i unplug and replug it in the solid green comes back. i've let it sit for quite a while now thinking it may still be charging but no luck turning it on. the LED also stays solid green if i take the battery out and just have the device plugged in... so i'm thinking the battery is junk? i'm really hoping it isn't the phone... im thinking of ordering a replacement battery to try from that www.dealextreme.com site. any thoughts? i can't take it to the store because it was bought in finland for me as a gift and im in canada. :( |

Did you do anything dodgy?
I've known a case it wouldn't charge up at all as the user moved everything from /usr to /home.. |
Re: Solid Green LED, Won't charge/Power on
nothing out of the ordinary. file structure hasn't been touched at all and very few apps installed.

Re: Solid Green LED, Won't charge/Power on
You could try enabling the Devel repository and installing Netmon.
That has a display of the current voltage. Lion batteries should range around 3.8-4.2 V. Also, something similar happened to me when I had the Wifi connection on @ 100mW with power saving disabled. |
Re: Solid Green LED, Won't charge/Power on
sorry, bit of a n00b when it comes to the repository's
do i need to get into the device to do that? because it doesn't boot at all. |
Re: Solid Green LED, Won't charge/Power on
dont buy it from dealextreme its not worth the money. get a used nokia 5800 battery from ebay, cheaper and 100% genuine.
remove the battery from the N900 leave it out for an hour or so maybe even 24hours. then put battery back into phone and use USB cable to charge phone. could be that charger is faulty. this may just do the trick, good luck. |

Did you add extra application respositorys and install some apps from them?

Otherwise, you could use the linux flasher, as I think it's faster to pick up a device and start flashing then the windows version. |
Re: Solid Green LED, Won't charge/Power on
hey guys, just an update
bought a new battery and phone powers up fine a couple problems with wifi right now, but im going to wipe it clean and im sure that'll fix it all so the problem was a dead battery im guessing. |
