Yes, its installed as a dependency automatically when you install QT based apps.

He means that you write the code once and then recompile it so that it works on different platforms. I guess Qt takes care of the rest.

Ah, hence the multi platform support. So a piece of software written on a windows 7 machine could be compiled to run on a N900.

And how difficult is it to recompile for different platforms?
