N900 won't boot Mer (for some reason)

Hi,
I followed these instructions in order to get Mer (0.17testing10) on my N900.

After some tries I finally partinioned the MicroSD card correctly :p I also made the .item file in the bootmenu.d directory but when I choose Mer from the bootmenu, the device crashes (turns off) after some seconds.

I'm out of ideas, what can the problem be? Wrong file permissions? I triple checked the lib/firmware binblobs.. Everything seems ok :o

It seems I'm the only one having this problem, so my only option is to retry all the steps :P

You're not actually! I am having the same issues.

The SD card is corrupting on umount for me it seems

If I unmount it, the whole distro disappears from the card and requires reformatting.

I'm using a 4gb sandisk memory card too

Mer has been declared dead as I understand it, but I am still looking forward to seeing your reports on how it works for you if you get it going.

If you're using a different kernel copy the modules from /lib/modules/current to /lib/modules/<kernel version> on the MicroSD

hmm...

this is what i get when i remount the card

root@beagle-3:/media# umount /media/mer
root@beagle-3:/media# mount -rw /dev/sde /media/mer
mount: wrong fs type, bad option, bad superblock on /dev/sde,
missing codepage or helper program, or other error
In some cases useful info is found in syslog - try
dmesg | tail or so

Reading dmesg suggests the card is foobared.

I'll tell you what I did and worked for me. Completely erase the partitions and make them again. I used gparted.

The traditional remedy is to try reformatting on a PC or somewhere else. However, cards do die sometimes.
