Re: Power saving on/off ?
As root:
iwconfig wlan0 power off will disable power management temporarily. You will need the wireless-tools package (from Nokia Apps repo) installed to get this command (IIRC, it isn't by default). From my testing, it appears the change made using iwconfig will remain until you switch wireless networks or until your device is idle for ~30 seconds. |

Re: Power saving on/off ?
@Andre: I don't think this is a case of wanting to disable the 802.11 radio, but rather temporarily changing the power management setting to increase 802.11 performance.

But it's looks like not working... when i switch off power saving by UI i get: Code:
PING n900 (192...) 56(84) bytes of data. Code:
PING n900 (192...) 56(84) bytes of data. iwconfig say that Power managment is OFF on wlan0 but: Code:
PING n900 (192...) 56(84) bytes of data. Quote:

Re: Power saving on/off ?
Works here...
50 pings with PM on and off: RTT...min......avg.......max....... [on ] 6.570....128.856...253.957 ms [off] 2.203......3.133.....4.783 ms I only tried disabling power management using iwconfig, but it is clear that there was a decrease in jitter/latency once I did so. |
Re: Power saving on/off ?
I was close to install "n900fly" and do some record... ;)
But you was right it's work... but only when I use this command in xterminal not via ssh. Think it's about that 30sec idle what you wrote... Sorry and Thanks! ;) It's what I was looking for ;) Thanks again... |
Re: Power saving on/off ?
Wifiinfo has some buttons - don't they do just that?
