Pandora game apps still possible for the N900?
During the pre-launch discussion about games, it was mentioned that a lot of the Pandora apps would be ported very easily. Is this perspective still accurate, or was it a bit overzealous at the time?
I thought of it since getting my M11x. It is my main Mini-Me, but then I recalled a lot of talk about the N900 being a perfect device for easy Pandora-port gaming. M11x rocks, but not as pocket friendly;) |
Re: Pandora game apps still possible for the N900?
Of course, it depends on the app. The Pandora devs and users are usually a bit less demanding on the licensing part, and in fact there are even some mainstream apps there that aren't actually free as in freedom software.
What is true is that the Pandora is faster. Do not hesitate on that one. |

Simpler software. As of now you cannot even play a GLES game on the Pandora without killing the entire user interface (aka Xorg).

The pandora has an OMAP 3530, while the N900 has the OMAP 3430

If you guys are saying that the emulators created for the OpenPandora project are not easily portable to the N900, then I will cry.
This was the only thing saving me from selling my N900 and switching to a droid. Why does my N900's GBA emulator run worse than my G1's? |
Re: Pandora game apps still possible for the N900?
they are easily ported (when they are free!), but they will perform a bit (or a tad) worse, depending on the app.
