Re: is there any gmail notifier?

I too miss the old gmail-notifier.
I prefer to read gmail via the browser, and the gmail-notifier is an extremely lightweight way of checking for new mail (which is important to me while on 3G/GPRS in particular).
I already have imap set up for my work mail, which is more than enough load.

Currently the N900 can't do what the N800 could, in this respect.

Actually, the included email app sucks.
A notifier will solve the lack of imap idle in the current mail app.

I agree, this would be great. Could be a widget, or icon in status area, or perhaps notification bubble.

Re: is there any gmail notifier?

Yeah, that's the one I mentioned above. But it won't run on Maemo5. And there's no source.

Edit: Updated posting as I verified that it won't install.
