ok solved
it works fine thanks :) |
Re: is there any gmail notifier?
I too miss the old gmail-notifier.
I prefer to read gmail via the browser, and the gmail-notifier is an extremely lightweight way of checking for new mail (which is important to me while on 3G/GPRS in particular). I already have imap set up for my work mail, which is more than enough load. Currently the N900 can't do what the N800 could, in this respect. |
Re: is there any gmail notifier?
Actually, the included email app sucks.
A notifier will solve the lack of imap idle in the current mail app. |
Re: is there any gmail notifier?
gmail notifier is a must

Re: is there any gmail notifier?
I agree, this would be great. Could be a widget, or icon in status area, or perhaps notification bubble.

Re: is there any gmail notifier?
There already is such an application (for maemo 3/4) its called mnotify it is in the chinook and diablo Nokia repositories.

Re: is there any gmail notifier?
Yeah, that's the one I mentioned above. But it won't run on Maemo5. And there's no source.
Edit: Updated posting as I verified that it won't install. |
