Global FW on a UK device question

Hi

Is it possible to do a backup on a Uk N900, and then install the global firmware and then do a restore?

If so, is there any settings I need to be aware of that may not work?

Also - will this violate any warranty?

Thanks

Scott

The backup works brilliantly just flashed from UK firmware to Global the other day.
Not sure about warranty but if you need to send it back for whatever reason you can just reflash back to the Uk varient if you want.

it's probably a daft question but could I please ask to clarify if by backup you just mean the standard PC suite back up or something else?

Does it restore everything? I mean conversations, settings, list of apps, desktop, profiles, pictures, shortcuts, etc?

thanks!

Hey, I have a Uk n900 too, what new features are included in the latest global update, does the n900 support portrait mode? Cheers

For me, I want to do it as we get all the updates first with the global firmware.

Use the backup app, yes it restores everything.
@ Ashley search around the forums, no it doesn't support portrait mode.
It shouldn't invalidate your warranty as you didn't change the product code, you just flashed it with another firmware (I've done it on my US device)
