URGENT question about N800 charger 120v/220v

I'm selling this and we need to know, since this has the North American 120v charger, if using a 220v charger or converter will work no problems? I looked on the back beneath battery door and see no useful info... made in Korea.

The charger itself says: "Input AC 100 - 240v"

I bought a N800 in the US, its charger says that the input is 100~240V. I am from Peru, and had no problem here (220V)

Your North American charger can be used anywhere, in the US it will plug straight into an AC outlet, in the UK or other countries you need to use an AC outlet adaptor.

I do not understand your question. Are you refering to a standard Nokia charger or some generic charger that you want to use with your Nokia Internet Tablet? All nokia chargers work at 120v or 220v. Some generic chargers are designed to work only at 120v or 220v. A 220v only charger will not work in North America unless you buy a step-up transformer.

Not true NOkia provides 230 V or 110 V or 110 V / 220 V chargers.

I assumed that we are talking about chargers for N800, N810 and N900 and not chargers for Nokia cell (mobile) phones.

ANY charger rated 100-240V is universal . You can plug into any domestic main power, European 220V / 50 Hz or north American 120 V /60 HZ but with proper mechanical adapter ( travel adapter )
Inside adapter is an electronic power switching source who can handle all range of input voltages, even DC ( continuous) up to 240V * sqr(2) = 340 V DC :D

so no worry

As blue_led says. That's how it works.

I took my US Nokia AC adapter (110 V) and used in HK (220 V) for my N800, it worked and charged, but the adapter got warm, NOT hot, just warm and much warmmer than I used the same thing in US.

No apparant damage after 3 wk use. The thing still works fine today.

this is normal for a switching power source . when a higher voltage applied the switching frequency increase and switching power loss increases directly proportionately with the repetition frequency anyway is under design specifications
