QT Programs
I am new at this and recently found that I could use Open Office on my N900 which is great. I noticed some articles about QT programs and would like to know if QT programs can be downloaded and would work on the N900. Thanks for any help and information in advance!

Re: QT Programs
qt programs is a bit vague...
Alot of the programs in downloads are QT ones. There is a new version 4.7 i think, coming out very soon :) - and people are starting to design using it. (QT itself is one part, pythong, C, C++ etc are the languages used) |
Re: QT Programs
If I was to go to QT-Apps.org and download programs would the run on my N900 or would I need something else?

Re: QT Programs
From what I understand, and I'm a little out of my comfort zone here so correct me if I am wrong, but I believe a generic QT app would probably work.
What you wouldn't get is a nice hildon UI or have the app behave nicely by i.e. not taking up space in the rootfs. Do I have this right? |

Most likely, they have apps for Windows, Linux x86, or Mac OSX. |

Some of them might, but wouldnt want to try.... there are still specifics for each device (Screen resolution being one, api's etc being two....) QT makes it easier to convert to other systems, like symbian etc easier, but would still need a few changes. Depends on how complex it is. |
Re: QT Programs
Just seen this link - has a better description :D

But remove all of my terminal commands and system specific code, then the box loads up on windows fine, it has QT widgets, labels and tab's.... looks empty, but it is just the shell :) hehe |
