App request - gmail widget

hi guys,
although the default n900 email program is not bad, still it is not optimal for a gmail account. On the other side the basic html interface for gmail on microb runs pretty well but you have no way of knowing if there are new messages.
would a kind soul make a small widget that displays and checks the number of unread messages on gmail and that on click start microb opening the gmail basic html interface?
i ve checked and there are multiple python modules to help on this - search on pypi.
thanks for the help...

Re: App request - gmail widget

The default email client, if set up to do so, notifies you if there are any new messages.

If you're looking for a friendlier interface, bookmark and use:

It's still the official GMail, just with the iPhone's user string attached, so it will think that you are using the iPhone/iTouch, and will provide you with the appropriate interface.

As for python, you could contact one of the people more familiar with it, such as metalx1000, or pycage.

This is a really nice tip, thanks. For Google Apps, I used:

https://mail.google.com/a/[domain]/x/gdlakb-/gp/?shva=1

Much quicker than even the basic HTML desktop version and a better fit onscreen.
