So although Skype is built in to the Maemo system, the secondary camera function was left out?

Video calling will be added in the next firmware update for the N900.

No news on when this update is coming., though. :)

Skype does not support video calling on mobile platforms, so it was not left out, just waiting for Skype to implement it. SIP/3G videocalls are a different matter.

i think they are with the 4g and lte being rolled out only a matter of time
