IMAP inboxes
 

Hello all,

I've tried searching the forum however to no avail. I am currently using the pre-installed email client to synchronise an IMAP mailbox - the only problem is that it doesn't save a local copy for offline viewing. So if I try to check my email whilst on the underground, I cannot get to my folders. Does anyone know of a work-around?

On the N810 it's a configuration parameter. In the drop down menu select "Tools"-> "Accounts.."-> (select account)-> "Edit button"-> "Account tab"-> "Retrieve*" and set to "Messages and Attachments".

Sorry - should have mentioned its on the N900!

I'd expect that parameter is there on the N900 with a different user interface to get there.

that's strange...

i use two IMAP accounts, and i don't have to be online to read my mail on either of those mailboxes...
i don't remember changing a setting anywhere, so it must be this way by default...

did you try to simply delete and recreate your IMAP account?

IMAP is working fine with my gmail account too.

It's not there. The UI designers in their infinite wisdom decided that it would be too confusing for you and removed it. Feel free to express your disagreement by voting for bug 5175 (but please avoid "me too" comments that don't add anything useful to the report).

I for one don't understand why the N900 had to be less of a computer than the N810 to be a phone. I'll be sticking with my N810.
