Using local repository from Application Manager
Hi everybody,
I'm just trying to get the Application Manager on my N900 to work on a partial local copy of the maemo repo. This means, that I copied the directory structure, the Packages file and a number of ....armel.deb files in their places from repository.maemo.org to a local subdir. I then added a new Application Catalog to the Application Manager, based on the settings of the preset maemo.org catalog, but with a file:///home/user/.... address. This doesn't seem to work, so, does anyone know if there is any possibility to give the Application Manager a local path rather than a http address? As an alternative, is the Application Manager able to keep track of packages installed without it? In this case, it would be possible to - change into RD mode and use - sudo gainroot - dpkg -i .....deb But, as mentioned, I'd prefer the Application Manager to recognize this afterward rather than installing something, that is not recognized and unmanaged after installation. Best regards |
