My N900 stopped detecting Nokia headphone
Hey guys my N900 ran into a problem yesterday, I can't seem to get the standard Nokia N900 headphone to detect with my N900. When I plugged into the phone jack, it just completely ignoring it. No headphone applet appeared.
But when I use the standard 3.5mm jack from a standard headphone or earphone or speakers, it works. I don't know why the official one stopped detecting unless I did a swap trick, by plug in the standard phone jack then let it detect and pull it out and plug the N900 headphone real fast into the hole, then it work. This is somewhat a software bug. I assumed that the bug still dwelling with the N900 headphone jack. Is there anyone know how to fix this issue? |
Re: My N900 stopped detecting Nokia headphone
Do any other headsets with microphones work?
Also, there was a bug a while ago filed against FM Radio, in which it interferes with microphone input (not sure if it means headset or built-in.) |
Re: My N900 stopped detecting Nokia headphone
I don't know I don't have any other headsets. But when it work, everything work. But 99.99% of the time it won't detect.

The microphone is working when i did a swap trick of the jack. Something to do with the OS not able to detect the audio jack with microphone built in.

Re: My N900 stopped detecting Nokia headphone
If a reflash didn't work, then it's probably a hardware fault. (Either the headphones are messed up (try plugging them in somewhere else), or the microphone part of the jack is malfunctioning.)
If you have an older tablet (770, N800, N810) you should have a headset at your disposal. Eliminate variables. That's the key to solving problems. |
